The Mouse and the Lion

A touching, real life moment.
Today as I pulled into the parking lot of Radio shack, I noticed a sliver in my foot. I took off my shoe and was trying to remove the tiny piece of wood. A homeless woman approached me to ask for assistance as she had been turned away from the homeless shelter. I stopped what I was doing to be present with her for a moment, but the sliver kept drawing me back. I apologized to her and explained that I was distracted by this sliver in my foot. She put down her bags, searched inside them and produced an alcohol pad and tweezers. We removed the sliver and I was able to offer her assistance. Cora is a lovely lady and as we said goodbye with a hugs and smiles, she said she felt like “the mouse”.
Blessings sweet Cora.
